Subject: can i substitute cake flour for self rising flour in acake recipe

czn i use cake flour for self rising flour in a cake reipe

No.  Cake flour is made from softer wheat and would not be a good subsititution for general purposes.

There is a self-rising cake flour if that is what the recipe calls for.  Brand was always Presto.

If you do use self-rising cake flour, then you must increase the amount of flour by 1 tablespoon.

Sorry, I misread your original question and didn't realize you're making a cake, but it is always safest to use what a recipe calls for.

also interesting..
