We've just released a fun new feature for the BigOven.com website.
You can now suggest recipes for your other BigOven friends... and those recipes go right on (the bottom of) their Try Soon Queue, along with any brief comments you'd like to make. (NOTE: Since Try Soon Queues are public, your comments are also public to all users. Use email to send private messages.)
Here's how to add recipes to your BigOven friends' Try Soon Queues:
- Simply visit a recipe page, and look to the upper right menu bar. You'll see an option "Suggest to Friend".
- Click it, and enter the BigOven chef's username. It's that easy!
Possible uses:
- Got a relative who is just learning to cook? Help queue them up with your favorites.
- Notice a recipe that a friend just has to try? Put it on their Try Soon List!
- Make some suggestions to help friends and family eat a little better
- Help get your friends unstuck!
At the moment, we're also experimenting a bit with bringing up the visibility of the next 3 items on your Try Soon list to the BigOven homepage at www.bigoven.com. If you're logged in, you'll see your top 3 upcoming recipes right there, waiting for you.
New users signing up automatically get two recipes added to their 'Try Soon' Queue just to get them started.
One other improvement -- you can now Find Other BigOven Users if you know what their username starts with or if you know what their email address starts with.
