    RE: Help Topics

Excuse me but your help section "Getting Recipes into BigOven" has
     1. Importing from Cook'n
     2. Importing from MealMaster
     3. Recipe Archives on the Web
     4. Recipe Forums on the Web

I have MasterCook recipe archives as follows and would like to know how to get these recipes into  recipe boxes with BigOven. Your "help" does not provide any information on how to do that.

Specifically I have the following Cookbooks:

    Mastercook books

    Cookies-  2239 recipes from everywhere

    Gourmet/Bon Appetite -5833 from 1990 to present

Keep  -3098 recipes that include recipes from  Martha Stewart  that I have made, revised, commented upon; recipes from the family, modernized and revised; recipes that I have added in from all my little slips of paper forever; recipes from Bon Appetite, Gourmet, Cuisine, Fine Cooking, Cooking Light that I have made and use.

    MarthaStewart -900 recipes
many of which are no longer on Martha Stewart.com that originally came from the Source:
      "Martha Stewart Living - <www.marthastewart.com>"
(Formatted for MC5):  by Lynn Thomas  -  Lynn_Thomas@prodigy.net"

The point is that if I was going to continue to use BigOven then I would want a way to know how to "convert" these into "Books" with the Big Oven System

Go to the cookbook whose recipes you want to export into Big Oven.  Select all (or whichever ones you want to export), then go to  'recipes' on the task bar above and select 'export'.  Choose a place to export (I use Drive A and put them all on a floppy).  Next, open the Big Oven cookbook where you want them to go (or make a new cookbook) then go to File-->Import and chose 'from Mastercook xxx" where xxx is the last 3 letters of your export, like mxp.  Then choose the right file type and export. Now Big Oven will give you a message suggesting you create a new recipe box.  That part is up to you---I never have, and all my MC recipes imported just fine.

If any of this is unclear, drop me an email at drvicky@rcn.com.
