    Printing directly to index cards?

Hi, I'm checking out this software for my wife for X-mas.  One of the important features she's looking for is the ability to print a recipe directly to a 4x6 index card.

I've tried doing this with BigOven, but so far I have not been successful.  The printing behavior always shows a the cutout of where you should cut if printing to full size sheet of paper.  Also, there is always a header (showing page 1 of x) and a footer showing the date.

Is there a simple way to print what would show up in the cutout area directly to a card.

What I'd like to do is feed a single 4x6 blank index card into my printer.  Have it print one side, and then I can flip the card over and reinsert into the printer to have it print the other page.

Is there a simple way to accomplish this with your software?

    Thanks!

Just to add, I saw in the print preview window where you can remove the header and footer!  I still have some text that appears above the card.  Is this text just for the trial period users?  Anyway to remove the dashed cutout line?

     Thanks again!

BigOven inherits the header/footer from Internet Explorer.  To change the header/footer, you actually need to go into Internet Explorer and click on the arrow next to the Print icon -- choose "Page Setup".  There, you can alter (or remove) the header or footer that is displayed.

The 4x6 format and 3x5 formats are the only ones supported at present.  However, it is possible if you know a little HTML to further customize a "Theme" to display in the format you'd like.  Open up the "My BigOven Recipes\Themes" folder and you'll see about 8 files.  You can modify those templates to customize the output (and display) further.  We're looking into more powerful print formatting capabilities in the next major release of the product.
