Want to delete cuisine and main ingredient from view when printing

I am using BigOven to create a cookbook for my family.  When printing the recipes, I don't want to see "cuisine" or "main ingredient" below the instructions.  I want to delete them all together.  I have searched everywhere to find a way.  Can you help?

Re: Want to delete cuisine and main ingredient from view when printing

This can be accomplished via a (technically speaking, unsupported) feature of modifying the custom "themes" in your "My BigOven Recipes" / Themes folder.

There, you'll see several HTML templates that are named "recipetheme0.htm"..."recipetheme7.htm".  recipetheme0 is the one used by default.  Open that up in your favorite HTML editor, or notepad.exe, and you'll see the simple layout that BigOven uses to plop fields down on the page or screen.  It's kind of a mail-merge like method -- simply delete the fields "@BO_CUISINE@" and "@BO_MAINING@" and you'll accomplish what you're after.

Please note -- this is an unsupported feature of the product (i.e., we don't teach HTML here on  our forums, but there are many great sources for you to learn on the web if you don't already have some familiarity with it), and it does require some playing around to get right.

I would like to do the same kind of thing as amypayne -- leave off the cuisine, main ingredients, and key words -- except on 4x6 cards.  The cards apparently don't use the 7 templates you mentioned above.  Is there a separate HTML template somewhere for the cards that I could attempt to modify to customize the card printing?  Thanks for your help!

Sorry, the 4x6 and 3x5 formats are hardcoded and cannot be modified by the user...

BOPtool does that!  It prints to actual 4x6 cards, though, not to a multiple-4x6 form on a regular sheet of paper. Unfortunately, it does not currently have an option to put cuisine, main ingredients, and key words in if you wanted them. BOPtool is a WORD template you can download for free.  See the the Printing Recipes and Cookbooks group for more information.
