  • Converting mcx and mc2 MasterCook files to mxp/mx2

I have a large list of family recipes currently in backup files in mc2 format from MasterCook. Unfortunately the MasterCook 5 software has been uninstalled and its CD apparently thrown out. Is there a utility that can do this conversion so I can import them to BigOven? frankvan

  • Importing meal plans/calendar of recipes

As far as I can tell there is no option to import or upload a meal plan. It would be nice to create a meal plan and share it with others. I've been searching for a meal plan for hypoglycemics/diabetics that would enable you to adjust the quantities, etc. Being able to import such a plan would be...

  • Re: Importin

Hi There! I'm not sure I understand why you say that you cannot have a recipe box - in a recipe box... Actually, I was just going to start a thread on this, because I'm probably not the first person to wonder about it... In a physical recipe box, you don't just throw all your recipes in there...

  • Can't import recipes after downloading update, getting 'invalid date checksum' error

I loaded a download, and can not longer import recipes (using the gray import button). Am online, that's not the problem. Also have error message 'invalid date checksum' when going to desktop links. After update (tried twice before it worked) I have too many desktop links, all but one getting...

  • BigOven Won't Import MX2 files

I'm trying out BigOven to see if I can replace Living Cookbook, which I find too cumbersome to use. I have exported some recipes from Living Cookbook in MX2 format but BigOven won't import them and I don't know why since I could import some that I exported from an older version of Mastercook...

  • .bgo file attachments will not import to Big Oven

When I recieve an e-mail created by my brother's Big Oven program to send me a recipe, one of three things happen: 1. The e-mail I recieve has no .bgo attachment and there is no text in the message body, or 2. The e-mail includes a .bgo attachment and the standard text, but double clicking on the...
  • importing from clipboard and asterisks

I often import recipes from the web via the clipboard. Ingredient lists are usually an html unordered list (<ul>), which when copied and pasted, outputs something like: * 1 Tbsp. unsalted butter * 2 shallots, minced * 2 blades lemongrass, chopped If I just try to import like that, it takes the...

  • Importing MasterCook mc2 files

I purchased BigOven online after noting that it will import MasterCook recipes. When I opened the import tool it only allows for MX2 and MXp file imports. How do I import my mc2 files?

  • Re: importing from MasterCook

To export MasterCook cookbooks or recipes: BigOven makes it easy to import MasterCook recipes as a single recipe or as a cookbook. To prepare for importing, you will need to create and export file that will be imported into BigOven. 1. Go to “Cookbooks” main page. 2. Click once on the cookbook just to...

  • 3 for the 'wish list'

Discovered your software and community yesterday. Wow! After years of searching for a successor to my trusty Mastercook 5 I think I've finally found it. I've had a go at importing and adding recipes and I must say it's very impressive and I love the idea of an online food community. Finally...
