Delicious and easy salad
"Wow - so, so good! Was super easy to make (and I am a COMPLETE novice...didn't even know what a shallot looks like...don't laugh) and only took about 15 minutes or less to prepare. Added Gorgonzola crumbles like another reviewer suggested as well as avocado. Both were really good, but the avocado was just awesome. Added to My Favorites. Thanks for posting, Kate!"
1. Toast the walnuts in 400 degree oven for 5 min. Cool.
2. Combine first 6 ingredients in a large bowl; stir with a whisk.
3. Add arugula and pears to bowl; toss to coat.
4. Place about 1 1/2 cups salad on each of 4 plates; sprinkle each serving with 1 tablespoon walnuts.

Fergcx1 8 months agoI candied the walnuts w/a little maple syrup, I used a spinach-arugula blend and added some crumbled goat cheese. I also swapped white balsamic for the wine vinegar to add some sweetness. The salad turned out excellent. Will definitely make again!
