Re: Dried Chestnuts...http://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxtry chestnutsonline. there were a lot of recipes on this site including recipes from a region in Italy where they make everything from chestnuts. It kept them from starving during WWII.

A lot of the recipes used chestnut flour. I know you can buy it, but no clue on how to make it.

Glad I saw your post. I love chestnuts. Sometimes you just have to be reminded of an old favorite.

Good luck!

Re: Just Saying Hellohttp://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxAs a technophobe, I am confused.

I posted about my dry chestnuts, some responses. I could only  get my original post.
I obviously don't know how to work this.

Any hints, insights, clues?

Just Saying Hellohttp://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxHello all, no particular topic here.  I have been using Big Oven software for several months but just recently started hanging out on the site, in fact I have it up as my startup page :).  I love reading all of your recipes and words of wisdom, and hope to learn tons.  You are a great crowd and I look forward to making many great recipes.  I haven't posted any myself yet, but hope to very soon!

Dried Chestnuts...http://www.bigoven.com/groups.aspxNew to this site. Not quite sure how it works.

A bit about me, I am a pretty good home cook with some professional experience and training.

The question is use of dried chestnuts. DH brought me a bag of them. I boiled some in salted water drained and used in stuffing a chix. last night. Pretty good. Any ideas on how they should be used? This is a new ingredient to me.

Thanks
Soupereasy
