Ingredients

6 Bananas mashed

2 teaspoons baking soda

1 cup Buttermilk

4 cups sugar

6 Eggs

1 cup Shortening

5 cups flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons Vanilla

1 cup Pecans


Directions

1. mash bananas and sprinkle soda over them 2. add buttermilk and sue as liquid 3. add sugar and eggs to shortening 4. sift flour and salt; dd nuts to flour 5. mi well to keep nuts from sinking to bottom of pans 6. add alternatively to banana mixture to eggs mixture 7. add vanilla 8. pour into well greased and floured tube pan 9. bake 1 or 1 1/2 hours 10. can use 3 coffee cans instead of tube pan
