Banana Cream Pie

Ingredients

1/2 cup Sugar

1/3 cup Flour

2 cups milk

3 Egg yolks

2 tablespoon Butter

1 teaspoon Vanilla

3 Bananas

1 Pie crust baked

8 ounce Cool whip

Directions

Mix together sugar, flour, and milk. Cook over medium heat stirring constantly. When it boils, cook and stir for 2 minutes. Beat egg yolks thoroughly. Add small amount of hot mixture to egg yoks, then pour the rest of the egg yolks into the mixture. Return to stove. Cook for 2 minutes longer constantly stirring. Remove from heat Add butter and vanilla. Slice 1 banana and put into pie crust. Pour 1/2 mixture over. Add 2 more bananas and remaining mixture. Refrigerate till cool.

Exactly what I was hoping for... a true banana cream pie. Delicious, loaded with bananas, and not too sweet. The recipe never specifies what to do with the Cool Whip. I assumed it was for garnish, but it was not necessary. Adding this one favorites!
