Brown Bread Beano

Ingredients

150 g Demerara sugar; (5 oz)

50 ml Dry instant coffee; (1

5 ml Lemon juice; (1 teaspoon)

142 ml Double cream; (1/4 pint)

142 ml Single cream or natural

125 g Fresh brown breadcrumbs; (4

A tin or sachet of fruit pie


Directions

Mix the breadcrumbs, sugar, drinking chocolate and coffee together. Whip the creams or cream and yogurt together, not too stiffly. Spread a little cream in the base of a pretty glass bowl and then make layers in the following order: breadcrumb mixture; cream; fruit ( sharpened with lemon juice) in the centre; breadcrumbs; cream on top. Cover with grated chocolate and then chill overnight, or for 24 hours which is even better. NOTES : Layers of crisp breadcrumbs, fruit and cream combine in this delicious dessert.
