Brown Rice with Bay Leaves

Ingredients

1 ts Salt

3 Bay leaves; crumbled (3 to

375 g Long-grain brown rice;

50 g Butter; (2oz)

750 ml Water; about (1 1/4pints)


Directions

Melt the butter with the bay leaves in a large, heavy saucepan over a low heat. Add the water and salt and bring to the boil. Add the rice, cover tightly and turn the heat to low. Cook for 45 minutes, or until all the water has been absorbed and the rice is just tender adding more water if necessary.
