Ingredients

225 grams sugar was 1 cup

8 ounce Raisins originally currants

8 ounce Sultanas

4 ounce Butter

1/2 teaspoon Bicarbonate of soda

225 mililiters Water

250 grams Self raising flour was 1 cup

2 Eggs beaten


Directions

Mix all the above (apart from flour and eggs) in a pan and boil for 5 minutes. Leave to stand overnight. Add flour and eggs. Place in a lined 7 inch cake tin and bake for 2- 2.5 hours at 325?F/170?C/Mark 3.
