Challah Bread with Herbed Butter

Wonderful bread to wrap and give as a give with a dish of herbed butter.

Ingredients

2 cup Water warm

1 envelope Quick-rise active dry yeast

1 tablespoon Sugar

3 tablespoon olive oil

2 Egg

1/4 cup Honey

8 cup Flour

1 1/2 teaspoon Salt

1 Egg beaten with 1 tsp water

1/2 cup Butter

1 tablespoon Parsley fresh

1 teaspoon Thyme fresh, chopped

2 cloves Garlic


Directions

Add all ingredients in order listed into bread machine on dough setting. Place dough on a floured surface. Divisde into 6 equal portions. Roll each piece of dough into a rope about 14 inches long. Place 3 ropes on a baking sheet and braid the, beginning in the middle and tucking under the ends to form a uniform braid. Repeat with remaining 3 ropes. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Cover with oiled plastic wrap and let rise for an additional hour or until doubled in size. Brush loaves with egg mixture and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until loaf reaches an internal temperature of 210 degrees. Makes 2 loaves. Herbed butter: 1/2 stick butter, 1 Tablespoon fresh parsley, 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, 1-2 cloves garlic. Mix with blender and pipe into decorative bowl. Fridge.
