Flour Tortillas

Super easy, tender flour tortillas.

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp Salt

1/2 tsp Baking powder

1/3 cup shortening or lard

1 cup Water very hot


Directions

Mix dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening and mix until the dry mixture looks like crumbly sand. Slowly stir in water, then knead by hand or in stand mixer for 2 minutes or until light plasticity has formed. Cover and allow to rest for 40 minutes to an hour. After rested, portion into 1-inch balls and roll out with a rolling pin. Cook on med-high heat in a cast iron skillet for 30 seconds per side or until speckled and cooked through.
