Directions

In medium sauce pan on medium heat sweat off onions, garlic, chilies and red pepper until soft. Do no caramalize. Add bourbon and reduce by half. Watch out for flambe. Add sugar, cook until dissolved. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until desired consistency. Remove star anise & cinnamon stick. Puree in food processor until smooth. Cool if not using immediately and reserve for use.
