Mom's Boeuf Bourguignon

Mom would make this on special occaisons. Ultimate comfort food. Love it served over mashed potatoes

Ingredients

3 1/2 pounds Top Round Steak

1/4 cup Butter

2 tablespoons Olive oil

4 tablespoons Sherry heated

30 small White onions (1/2 bag frozen)

1/2 pound Fresh mushrooms

1 tablespoon Tomato paste

2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

6 tablespoons Flour

2 cubes Beef Bouillion dissolved in 2 cups of water

1/4 teaspoon Pepper

2 tablespoons Parsley

1/4 teaspoon Thyme

1/4 teaspoon Majoram

2 cups Burgundy wine

1 teaspoon Salt


Directions

Brown cut cubed meat in butter and oil. Remove and pour sherry over it. Cook frozen onions in pan with juice from meat for 3 mins. Add mushroom and cook 1 minute. Add tomato paste, worcestershire sauce and flour and mix in. Then add dissolved bouillion, 1 ? cups of the wine, salt, pepper, thyme, majoram and parsely. Mix. Add Meat. Cook 2.5 hours. Add remaining wine 20 minutes before serving

This was a special Sunday Recipe that my mom made for years. I love it because it is so easy and so super rich. I never seem to have the small onions and so I always just cut up a large yellow onion into large pieces. I always serve this over mashed potatoes. Also, I cook it for hours in the crock pot until the meat is tender as can be. Hubby loves this one.
