Natalie's Mushy Peas

A great side dish to go with Corned Beef and Cabbage for your St. Paddy's Day dinner.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons Olive Oil

1 16 ounce bag Frozen Peas

1 bag Frozen chopped onions (or use fresh)

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons Brown sugar

Salt and pepper


Directions

Cook peas according to package directions. Saute chopped onions in olive oil and add the peas. Stir in salt, pepper, and butter and let it simmer for 30 minutes. Transfer it to a large bowl and stir in the brown sugar. Gentle mash the peas to desired consistency.
