Stuffed Cabbage Casserole

Ingredients

2 lb. Ground beef

1 medium cabbage chopped

1 28-oz can tomatoes crushed

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cloves garlic minced

1 cup uncooked rice (brown is ok)

3 onions sliced fine

1/4 cup Sugar

1 can tomato soup


Directions

Brown meat with onions and garlic. Cook rice. Cover cabbage with water in pot and cook until done (save water); drain. Mix all ingredients (except reserved water) in casserole sprayed with Pam. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour covered. Use reserved water from cabbage if casserole becomes too dry while baking.

Its pretty good but needed a little more flavor. I added some sour cream and salt and pepper and made it just that much better.

Very bland but my 8yo loves it. Added sweet chilli sauce to the adult servings which improved it immensely. Overall tastes better the next day.

Its a good simple recipe. I added one extra garlic clove, italian seasoning and top with fresh grated parmesan. The whole family liked it.

We loved this recipe. My uncle is from Syria and his cabbage rolls are in great demand. I took this recipe and added a little cinnamon--devine! It may sound weird for folks who only associate cinnamon with sweet food. Add a dash to this recipe and I promise it will not disappoint.
