Sweet rice

Can be eaten at breakfast or on special occasion with natural yoghurt. It's yummy though :)

Ingredients

4 Cups Basmati rice

3 Cups Granulated sugar

1 teaspoon Turmeric powder

5 Cups Boiling water Kettle

1 Pinch Dried fruits Currants, dates, raisins, sultanas etc


Directions

1. Pour 4 cups of basmati rice into a pan. 2. Pour cups of hot boiling water into a large jug and stir it with sugar until dissolved. 3. Then pour it into the rice then put in 1teaspoon of turmeric powder. 4. Give it a light stir. 5. Let it boil on high temperature until cooked (10 -15 mins approx) Don't let it to be too soft and the rice should be intact and not sticking together. 6. Drain the rice and let it stand in the colander for 5 minutes. 7. Serve with dried fruits (and with natural yoghurt if preferred)
