1. Fill a saucepan halfway with water and bring to the boil.
2. Heat a frypan to a medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Add the onion and brown for 2 minutes. Add the bacon and cook for a further 2 minutes. Once they are cooked, add the mince and cook until brown.
3. Once mince is brown, add the onion powder, garlic powder, chilli powder, tomato paste, tomato sauce and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer for 20 minutes or until the mixture is thick.
4. Add hot dogs to the saucepan and allow to boil for 1 minute. Turn off the heat and let the hot dogs sit in the pot for 5-7 minutes. Once they float, they are ready to eat.
5. Place the hot dog buns under the grill and lightly toast them.
6. Place the hot dogs inside the buns and top with the chilli mince mixture. Evenly distribute the cheese between the two buns and serve immediately.
Optional:
Place the hot dogs under the grill and melt the cheese. Top with mustard and serve.
