Very tasty. Light and very good.
Pre- heat oven 425
Freeze unsalted butter
Warm Buttermilk to 110 degrees
2 large Bowls
In med bowl whisk warm buttermilk and yeast, let stand till foamy, 10-15 minutes.
Large bowl combine 3 cup flower, sugar, whisk then add the yeast/milk mixture. Stir til just combined. Let stand 5 minutes.
In another bowl add 3 cups flour, salt, baking powder & soda powder then whisk together.
Shred frozen butter into that mix and stir it in.
Combine buttered flour and yeast flour. Knead only till blended.
Turn out dough onto lightly floured surface. Press and roll to a lot 3/4 inch and fold together. Do that 2 or 3 times.
Roll out to 1 inch and cut with 21/2 inch cutter do not twist cutter. Place on lipped baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Not touching. Butter tops and bake 10 to 14 minutes. Butter tops with salted butter & serve warm.
