Cook raisins for a short time. Cool and drain.
Pour boiling water over 1 cup of Bran Buds. Add shortening and stir well. Add remaining bran, sugar, molasses, eggs and buttermilk. Sift together dry ingredients and add to first mixture. Add the cooled raisins last. Bake at 400? for 20 minutes.
Can be stored in an airtight container in refrigerator for 6 weeks.
