My mom's meatloaf which makes my kids always wonder why some people don't like meatloaf. Also can be used for a meatball recipe.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Put two slices of bread in bottom of loaf pan to absorb juices and set aside.
Beat egg slightly, add 1/2 cup milk, 3 Tablespoons Heinz Chili Sauce, Lawry's Seasoning Salt and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
Add breadcrumbs. If all the breadcrumbs do not get moist, add a bit more milk.
Mix in onion until evenly distributed.
Add beef and pork. Mix first with spoon or fork, then with hands. If needed, add milk 2 tablespoons at a time until it is the right consistency. It shouldn't be at all liquid, but it shouldn't be too hard to squeeze through your fingers either. Flip mixture and scrape sides frequently so that the meat and breadcrumb mixture are evenly distributed.
Fill loaf pan, making sure there are no air bubbles. Cover with a remaining Chili Sauce - add more or less to make a smooth layer on top, about 1/8" thick.
Cook for one hour or until a thermometer placed in the center of the meatloaf reads 150 degrees F.
Allow to sit five minutes. Remove from pan, leaving the bread in the pan. Slice in 1/2" or 3/4" thickness and serve. You may use Heinz Chili Sauce as a condiment.
Remove jewelry from your hands and wrist. You will get messy - this is great to make with kids.
