This was a recipe from our bakery and converted for home use and Uncle Vic also made this recipe.
Cream sugar and shortening then add molasses, soda, water and ginger.
Then add flour and mix only till combined.
Place on lightly floured and roll to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into shapes.
Bake at 350 degrees 10 to 15 minutes till edges are slightly brown try not to overcook.
Makes about 20 to 23 3x5 inch planks.
Frost with a light glaze mixture of confectioners sugar and milk or water
