An autumn family favorite...but, in all honesty, they are delicious any time of the year.
Bar: Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs and molasses. Then, add warm water. Sift together dry ingredients and slowly mix into sugar mixture. Stir in cinnamon chips. Pour batter in a buttered jelly roll pan and bake at 350(F) degrees for about 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out either clean or with only a few crumbs clinging to it.
Icing: In a mixer blend powdered sugar, butter and half and half. Icing should be smooth and spreadable. Add more sugar (if too runny) or half and half (if too stiff) to get to desired consistency. Once achieved, add 1/2 tsp almond extract. Mix thoroughly. Spread over cooled bars.
