Baked Mac'n Cheese in a Milk Egg and Cheese Custard with Town House & Butter Cracker Crumbs on Top. Decadent!
-Pre-heat oven 350 degrees
-Under Cook the Macaroni, by a minute to two, any kind will do, I like the big fat ones or elbows.
-All the cheese needs to be chopped.
-In another bowl mix 3 tablespoons melted butter (cooled) and the three eggs, add the milk and the chopped cheese and the sugar. Salt, Pepper, Nutmeg to taste.
-After draining the Macaroni, I usually add the Custard (egg and cheese mix) back into the pot, that way its a large enough container to mix the custard cheese and macaroni.
-In another bowl add the crushed Towne House Crackers and butter mixed well (or in a plastic bag)
-In a 9X12 Buttered baking dish put the Macaroni Custard and cheese mix into the bowl.
Sprinkle the Towne House Cracker Crumb and butter mix all over the top.
-Cover with Foil for the first 20 minutes.
Remove the foil so the crumbs will brown, and continue to cook for 20-30more minutes.
-Total 40-60 minutes.
It should be oooey gooey good, with a buttery crunch. :)
The hardest part is chopping the cheese I usually do that and the cracker crumb mix first, that way I can assemble everything while the pasta is hot and won't overcook before it gets in the oven.
