Low fat and high in nutrients, this is a great easy winter supper. My family likes it over ditalini, with a bit of mexican cheese on top. Or, serve with oyster crackers.
Brown beef/pork with onion, garlic, and green pepper. Add salt and pepper while meat is browning. Add remaining ingredients, plus about 8 oz of water or more, to make it thinner. (I also sometimes add half a cup of dry red wine, but it is not necessary). Bring to boil, reduce heat and cover. Check seasonings and adjust to your liking. Simmer at least 20 minutes, longer is better.
