Suggest a better descriptionDissolve yeast in 1/2 cup warm water.
Scald milk and pour over sugar and shortening.
Let cool to luke warm.
Add yeast.
Stir in about 4 cups flour and beat well.
Let the batter stand for about 2 hours.
Sift remaining flour with salt, baking soda and baking powder.
Add to dough.
Refrigerate 1 hour.
Make into pocketbook size rolls, 3 1/2 inches, dip into melted butter and let rest for another 2 hours before baking at 375 degrees
