I've never understood why anyone would buy the boxed stuff. Making mac and cheese from scratch is easy and the taste incomparable.
Boil pasta according to directions drain, rinse and set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Melt butter in a saucepan and add flour. When flour is incorporated and browned stir in the milk and cream. Stir constantly on medium heat until the mixture thickens. Slowly add in grated cheese and stir until cheese is melted.
Grease a casserole dish with butter and coat with breadcrumbs. Mix the cheese mixture into the pasta and pour into the breadcrumbed dish. Cover and bake in the oven for 30-45 minutes.
