One of my favorite soups!
1. Slice sausage into 1/2 inch pieces. Brown in olive oil in a deep pot. (I use crock pot for soup.) Add onion, garlic, carrots, and basil; cook five minutes. Add zucchini, tomatoes with liquid, stock, cabbage, salt, and pepper; bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour. Add beans and their liquid, rice, and wine; cook 25 minutes.
Serve with grated Parmesan cheese.
