Suggest a better description1. In a medium saucepan, combine cream and 1½ cups of the milk and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
1a. While cream/milk mixture is heating, put the remaining milk, sugar, cornstarch and salt into a small-medium mixing bowl. Whisk to combine.
1b. Still while the cream/milk mixture is heating, Purée the berries until mostly smooth; reserve.
2. Once milk/cream mixture comes to a simmer, add the milk/sugar mixture and stir until fully combined.
Continuously stir until mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon
3. Remove pan from heat, stir in the puréed berries, vanilla and jam; Cool to room temperature.
4. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
5 Pour the mixture into the mixing bowl of your regular ice cream maker, and process according to the model's instructions.
Simple to make and most of it is done the night before. So all you have to do after dinner is churn and serve!
