MASHED POTATO TOPPING:
Boil potatoes until tender - mash with milk and butter
While potatoes are boiling:
INSIDES:
Brown ground beef - add to casserole dish
Boil chopped onion, cut baby carrots and frozen peas until tender
Drain veggie liquid into the same pan you used to brown the ground beef
Mix onion, carrots, peas with ground beef in casserole
GRAVY:
In the same pan you browned beef, make beef gravy. I like a lot of gravy so the filling isn't dry.
Add the water from boiled onion and carrots to pan
Shake a couple tbsp flour and 1/2 cup water and add to mixture, simmer to thicken (adjust with water or more flour to thin/thicken
Add 2 beef bouillon cubes and a dash of Kitchen Bouquet for color/flavor, add pepper and mix and taste, adding a little more bouillon if necessary.
Once gravy is done, pour into casserole and mix with the ground beet/veggies.
With a large spoon, scoop mashed potatoes on top to cover the filling
Bake at 350' for 45 min until middle is hot
You might want to put foil or a pan under the casserole since it tend to bubble over if full.
