Great sugar cookies for rolling and cutting
Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla until we'll combined. Stir in the flour, baking powder and salt. Roughly gather dough mixture into a ball and wrap in cling film (cellophane). Leave to chill in fridge for at least 2 hours.
Preheat oven to 200 c (400 f). Separate dough in two for easier rolling. Roll out dough onto well floured/sugared surface. To archive the thickness in the pictures roll to around 1/4 inch. Cut into desired shapes and place one inch apart on an non greased baking sheet.
Bake in preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, checking and turning tray half way if needed. Wait to cool and decorate (I used a mixture of royal icing and water icing).
