This dish has just the right blend of ingredients for a great tasting authentic New Orleans style meal to enjoy with the fun of pasta. Also serve and enjoy with your own twist of surprises added. Very tasty whether eaten as a vegetarian dish or if adding sausage, chicken or shrimp as a complete easy-to-prepare dinner the whole family will love.
{1}_HEAT oil in a large (12 inch) skillet on medium-high heat. Add sausage; cook and stir for 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
{2}_STIR in water and pasta dinner mix. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 10 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring occasionally.
{3}_REMOVE from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Sauce will thicken upon standing. Stir before serving.
What I personally like to do is prepare my meat first, then set to the side. Then fix the pasta mix as instructed, adding meat once pasta has boiled down, cover and simmer according to the remainder of the recipe.
